Delight

Linny at aplacecalledsimplicity.blogspot.com has Memory Box Mondays with a tangible object in their home to remind them of what God has done. Check out her blog to learn more about it and the scripture reference. I am aware of blessings that God gives me but I have not kept good records to share with my children or grandchildren. I am considering keeping record in photos. When God things happen such as these, I am reminded of Psalm 37:4, Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart. Here are our recent DESIRES turn DELIGHTS! I was gifted this really cool wall decoration made by Uppercase Living but our room arrangements were still in limbo due to baby Blake. With Clay having his own room, we were now able to hang this. Weeks went by and I was still insecure about hanging it but so badly wanted to. You see, I can't cut a straight line! Well Nana T came to see us and she took care of that! Nana also looked it up to learn that there had been a mistake an...

Welcome to Our Home

On any given day, you can find: crumbs (okay, maybe an entire piece of) food on the floor by our kitchen table. a Lego in every room of our home. daddy hiding doing a Sudoku puzzle. mommy waiting for daddy to come out of hiding so she can grab her book and hide. baby dolls and stuffed animals snuggled into make shift beds with their bottles. mommy with one slipper on and asking Blake where the other is. piles-to go to the basement, church, recycling center, a friend who might be able to use it, the library....you get the idea! dancing. a blanket on the couch. dirty dishes in the sink and spilled out onto the counter. a desk piled high of ideas! Toby Mac CD blaring. Blake closing opened drawers or cabinets after she fishes something out of them. well worn AWANA books. debt countdown cards. wrestling with daddy. Matchbox/Hot Wheels cars on the floor and couch. laundry! Mom at the computer typing away and seeing how truly blessed she is!

Be Still My Heart

I was given money for my little preschool friends at church with a catch! It has to be spent before the end of the year. Yeah, right before Christmas I was blessed. I was ALSO blessed with my parents visiting that week and NO desire to shop when the rest of the world had the same idea! I did know, however, that I had all the help I needed in making good choices-experts you might say! I took those precious experts with me to 2 Wal- Marts, Good-Will, and to help them go to one more store, McDonald's . It was a long day of following directions but the sword fight with the toilet bowl brushes in the container aisle helped to pull them through. Miss Blake, got into the action as well with a musical presentation on the lids of "fancy" garbage cans. The last stop was our local Wal- Mart. The kids unloaded and Lydia went out the opposite door. She did not walk around the van with Clay. I spotted her through the van window attempting to retrieve a cart. I went to her and explained...
