Our Family Circus

I am a child of a piler so I guess I can say I inherited it! I will be honest, the piles on the bar in our kitchen make me nutty but there is always stuff there! My friend commented on how clean the drawers are in our home but her counter tops are always clean. She finds a spot for things but I have to put them in THEIR spot. But many times I don't know where that place is...therefore, I pile. I am reading all kinds of teaching inspiration-organizing for homeschoolers, Cathy Duffy just to make sure I am on the right path, and Diane Hopkins of Love to Learn. I am dreaming big! I have materials to do for Social Studies and pulled books off the bookcase to read with the children on related topics we have in Science and Social Studies. Thus, I have created another pile! By the way, I am loving reading this summer and PRAISE GOD my reluctant reader has become a bookworm!!!! These are the items that clutter my desk for this week (or month.) What I need to take care of and what boggle my tiny brain. 1. An application for a part time teaching position. Part time rocks for me! I can work a couple hours a day doing something I really enjoy doing and return home to teach the people I really enjoy! 2. The certification paperwork trying to renew my certification in one state so that I can get certification in another. It is one checklist after another. 3. The same green ball in a baggie along with a couple of Lego Pieces to deliver to a friend. I think I can trap her now that school is starting....I know WHERE she will be on Thursdays....(insert evil laugh here!) 4. A LARGE stack of books to go through from a friend who does not allow stuff that can be used, to be thrown into the trash. It just makes sense to share it! She is a missionary in the public school system. Love that gal! 5. A calendar that I just pulled out to look up the new dates for the Vietnam trip...

My desk is a type of To-Do list as well as a catch all. Tonight it holds: 1. a shower gift for my soon to be sister-in-law who has a bridal shower tomorrow-lots of driving for me but we love this girl! 2. kindergarten lessons -I have the plan books but need my own planning book and L.'s books have been ordered. As soon as they get here, we are getting started with this one! 3. a green ball I could not find when I gave a friend the toy it goes too. Hope I can keep it hidden here until I see her again. 4. an empty Silly Putty egg and I am a little concerned about its contents (1) because baby girl has been crawling up here and (2) I have really enjoyed playing with that stuff and noticed, believe it or not, I skip an evening snack if my hands are busy. So glad L. won it at the library for reading 300 minutes! (but seeing that she does not read yet-I guess I earned it for reading to her!) 5. AWANA catalog time to order for this great ministry!
